A CHESS ENGINE IS A TOOL, NOT A JOKE.

Many beginner chess players (and even good ones) get caught up in the disease “Machine Dependency” or engine dependency.

• “Wow, Stockfish says this move is +0.5, which means it’s good.”

• “Your move was a blunder, the computer said the value was -2.”

But when asked WHY Whether the move is good or bad, they are dumbfounded. “I don’t know, that’s what the computer basically said.”

This is dangerous!

Remember chess friends: When competing in a real tournament, you are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to bring an engine!

You guys sit there alone. There’s only your brain, the chessboard, and your opponent. There’s no Stockfish 18 to whisper magic steps in your ear.

How to Use the Right Machine:

1. Analyze Yourself First: Before starting the engine, try to analyze your party with your own brain. Find errors in your version.

2. New Ask Engine: Once it’s stuck, just turn on Stockfish 18. Compare the results of your thoughts with the machine’s suggestions.

3. Find Out the “Why”: If the engine suggests strange steps, don’t just memorize them. Dig into the reasons. Is it because there is a hidden tactic 10 steps ahead? Or because of positional advantage?

“Chess friends, Stockfish 18 is indeed a god. He can sacrifice officers on g7 with a cool smile. But remember, in official tournaments, you can’t bring a laptop. There, it’s just you, your opponent, and your mentality. Use Stockfish as a teacher to understand ‘why’ a move is good, not just to memorize the number +1.5 on the screen. Don’t let it happen that when you are in front of a real chess board, your brain goes ‘blank’ because it is usually always fed by the engine!”
