A lot has changed in the world of chess training since we launched Chessable in 2016. Many features that were once new enhancements are now common expectations in chess training platforms.
We’ve looked at the features in our PRO offering and found some features that make more sense to offer to all users.
Starting today, the following PRO features are now available for free to everyone:
- Chess set customization
- Alternative machine movements
- Tablebase calculations for endgame
- The depth of the explorer is deeper
- Unlimited position savings
- Advanced time planner
- Difficult movement tracking
If you’re not familiar with these features, we’ll explain them below.
If you are a PRO member, the essence of your membership does not change. The features you love stay as they are. You still get 30% off any course, anytime, plus access to over 300 PRO exclusive courses. The features we uncovered are ones that we think should be standard for anyone learning chess on Chessable. The PRO features we hear from the community are the most important – exclusive content and savings – unchanged.
We will continue to create our regular PRO exclusive content, such as Short & Sweet free courses and lessons. We will make it bigger – more lines, more videos, more chess. We will also create special PRO-exclusive courses such as the Candidate Tournament course and other special courses in the future.
This is what we want from PRO: access to exclusive content, prices, and special features like Offline Mode – not the basic features that any chess site will offer in 2026.
We really appreciate the entire Chessable community who continue to provide us with good input. We hope that releasing these features to the entire community will, in at least some small way, show our gratitude.

PRO features are now available for all users and what they do
Alternative machine movements
Now, each member can change the number of lines that appear when using the machine, up to 5. Previously, basic members could only display 1.
Tablebase calculations for endgame
Any member can now activate the tablebase for positions with 7 or less pieces. The tablebase will display the order of wins or draws for those positions:

The depth of the explorer is deeper
All members already have access to the Opening Explorer feature, but initially win/draw/loss statistics are only available up to step 5 for basic members. Now, all members have win/draw/loss statistics at any depth.

Stored position limits
Previously, basic members could only hold up to 20 positions. Now, anyone can save an unlimited number of positions.

Advanced time planner
Now, all members have an advanced time planner widget on the right side of their dashboard, under the Daily Goals widget. This feature tracks how many moves you have to review and when, allowing you to manage your study load more effectively.

Difficult movement tracking
If you repeatedly make mistakes in a review session, it will be tracked in your dashboard. Difficult moves will be removed from the list when you play the move correctly a certain number of times (reaching level 6 in the spaced repetition schedule).

By clicking on the difficult move icon, you can focus on the specific variation you need to work on.

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
